Overview

The Associate Developer Intern position is a college or post college level position with fast growth opportunities. The Associate Developer Intern's primary responsibility is to analyze, design, implement and test customized software applications using languages such as .NET, Java, Salesforce's Apex and VisualForce, and ExactTarget's AMPScript languages. The person who fills this role will have a strong foundational knowledge of software architecture and design. The Associate Developer Intern will work closely with other team members to develop solutions for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design software solutions under the review of Associate and Senior Developers
  • Contribute to software design documents
  • Contribute to unit testing of code components or entire applications
  • Maintain a base of versioned code
  • Collaborate with the broader software development team
  • Participate in code review with members of the development team
  • Participate in joint development efforts with the greater development team

Skills/Personal Characteristics

Required

  • Junior, Senior, or Recent Graduate of a Bachelors Degree Program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years experience programming in .NET, Java, HTML, Javascript
  • Software development fundamentals such as knowledge of data structures, object oriented programming, relational database design, and design patterns
  • Keen attention to detail and complex problem solving abilities from an operational and technical perspective
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Continuous appetite and ability to quickly learn
  • Organized and results-oriented
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Must have good inter-personal skills and be able to mentor & motivate team members
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate issues as required
Preferred

  • Experience administering and/or developing with Salesforce.com (Certified Force.com Developer)
    Force.com developer toolkit - Apex, Visualforce, Force.com IDE, Force.com Migration Tool, Web Services/SOAP & Metadata APIs, SOQL
  • Experience administering and/or developing with ExactTarget
    ExactTarget developer toolkit - AMPScript, Web Services APIs, Data Extensions, Programs
  • Web Development Experience
  • Strong web development skills including CSS, JavaScript, HTML, XML
  • J2EE and .NET Experience is a plus
 

Developmental Skills

Salesforce: Knowledge of Salesforce configurations, Apex, API, and VisualForce development.
ExactTarget: Knowledge of ExactTarget Application, AMPScript, Programs, Data Extensions, and API.
Client Interaction Skills: Presentation Skills, Gathering requirements from Clients, etc.
Certifications: Achieve Salesforce.com and ExactTarget Certifications

Hours Per Week

It is anticipated that the Associate Developer Intern work approximately 20-30 hours.hours per week with some increases in workload as necessary to accomodate project timelines.

Location

Our offices are located in Century City, CA with additional resources in Toronto, Utah, Washington DC, and Boston. The majority of your time will be spent working out of our Century City office and making on-site visits in the local area, with occasional travel to visit clients or attend industry events.

Travel may be required for short periods of time (up to 25%).

Compensation

Compensation is $15/hour for the term of the internship.
